How to use it
  1. Paste or type your Numbers, separated by commas, spaces, or line breaks.
  2. Read the full set of statistics and histogram below.
Formula
Mean = Σx ÷ n Median = middle value (or average of two middle values) Std deviation = √(Σ(x−mean)² ÷ n) for population, ÷ (n−1) for sample
Worked example

The numbers 12, 45, 23, 8, 45 have a mean of 26.6, a median of 23, and a mode of 45.

Recommendations
  • Use sample standard deviation when your numbers are a sample of a larger population; use population when your list is the entire group you care about.
  • The histogram shows the shape of your data's distribution at a glance — useful for spotting skew or outliers.
  • Numbers can be separated by commas, spaces, or line breaks — all parsed the same way.
Frequently asked questions
Population treats your data as the complete set of interest; sample (dividing by n−1 instead of n) corrects for a sample tending to underestimate the true spread of a larger population.
